Cape Coral, March 15th- Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC is very happy to announce the return of Marianna Scine. Our 2nd captain of last year played 6 games last year for us. We had an interview with her.
FGCDL FC: Who are you, where are you from and how old are you?
Marianna Scine, 18 year old and I am from Fort Myers, Florida.
FGCDL FC: What is/was your college?
I play Division 2 ball at Webber International University
FGCDL FC: What kind of honors did you receive in your player career?
-Defensive player of they year (coach awarded this at banquet) and nomination for defensive player of the week. In high school I got all conference second team defense, 3 consecutive years leading scorer, and team captain.
FGCDL FC: Why do you return for your 2nd season at Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC?
I had a lot of fun last year playing with the team and Ifeel it will prepare me for the upcoming season in college.
FGCDL FC: What makes the FGCDL FC so different compare to other clubs?
They have a different style of play that helps you get better with your touch, fitness , and the great organization all around it. We as girl can focus on soccer instead of worrying about stuff outside of soccer.
FGCDL FC: What are your expectations for coming season?
I expect to win more games then we did last year. We have the potential to be the best and I expect that it will be a winning season.
Head Coach Vincent de Weger is delighted that Marianna is back. " Marianna is a defender that can that the lead in the team, but also can shut down the offense of the other team. She is somebody that learns quick and that is great quality to have. I look forward to work with her again."
