Dayton’s professional soccer club, the Dayton Dutch Lions FC, is continuously looking for players to play on their Super Y Teams over the summer. Super Y is a very prestigious USL League that runs nationwide in June and July.
Super Y is a very prestigious USL League that runs nationwide in June and July. Clubs that are competing in this league are well established clubs as the Chicago Fire, Toronto Lynx, Columbus Crew, DC United and lots of other high profile clubs. The Super Y is one of the highest possible levels for youth soccer and has the ODP status to identify players for U.S. National Team programs. Besides the U.S. National team program, the Super Y program is also used a lot by colleges to identify top prospects for their programs.
In the Dutch Lions Super Y program, player development and getting familiar with becoming a professional player is the primary focus. The practices are all on artificial turf and almost every day with some of the best coaches around. Besides the practices and high level games the Dutch Lions FC Super Y teams also use other tools like Video Analysis of the games and Tactical Board sessions.
The program starts in the first week of April with 1 voluntary practice per week. Starting the summer season all the teams will practice 3 to 4 times per week during the day (in the school vacation) and play 1-2 games per week. The program is supplemental to the current team and the club team should get priority over the voluntary practices, when conflicting.
The Dutch Lions FC have fulltime professional coaches from the Netherlands who will be training and coaching the teams. These coaches all have UEFA licenses and are true teachers of the game. It is their goal to develop the players.
Program Fee
The fee for playing in the Dutch Lions FC Super Y team (U12-U17) is $349 per player. This fee includes all the activities mentioned above with the professional coaches of the Dutch Lions FC. The travel and hotel costs for the players for away games are not included in the program fee.
Gear Fee
Players who already play for the Dutch Lions Academy can use the gear the used in the regular academy season. Specially for the players who are not with the Dutch Lions Academy we have create a Super Y gear package. This package includes 2 practice jerseys, 1 game jersey, 1 game shorts and 1 pair of socks. The fee for this package is $69
Try-out Schedule
Until June 20 we can still admit a few players for the U12 and U14 team for the 2013 season. Tryouts for the 2014 season will be announced shortly.
