Dutch Lions Academy Scholarship Fund

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC is a soccer club with a USL Pro Professional men’s team, a Women’s W-League team, and a Premier Youth Academy. The Dayton Dutch Lions was founded in 2009 and is built on the Dutch soccer style where using technical skills to be able to perform the tactical choices in the field is key.

The goal of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Academy is to prepare young talented players to play at exceptional levels, whether it is in high school, college, or a professional soccer career path. The ultimate goal is to develop players in the youth academy that will be able to play for the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Professional team and could be moving on to play in Europe.

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC Academy is always looking to add the most devoted and talented players to the academy. Regretfully, not every player’s parents have the financial means to afford for a premier soccer education as the Dayton Dutch Lions FC offers. Due to these hardships, the Dayton Dutch Lions FC has established a Scholarship fund to assist with the financial needs. The goal of this scholarship fund is to give financial aid, to (partially) pay for the Dutch Lions FC Academy, to assist parents of talented players that are devoted to soccer but may not have the financial resources to participate in the youth academy.

Apply for a Scholarship

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC expects each scholarship recipient to do something in return for receiving the Scholarship. Based on who provides the Scholarship this can be as simple as a visit to thank the Scholarship provider or participate in a promotional event in cooperation with the Scholarship provider and the Dayton Dutch Lions FC. And, the parents of the player that receives the Scholarship are expected to volunteering at the Dutch Lions FC pro games.

Receiving a Scholarship is a privilege and should never be taken for granted. As a Scholarship recipient, the expectations will be set very high with regards to attendance and efforts given during practices and games. Everybody realizes the development of a player is hard to predict, but the time commitment and efforts on the field are things that are very important for any chance of success.

Parents that are interested in applying for financial assistance through a DDLFC Scholarship should complete the Application form and return it to the Dutch Lions Office (8 E Franklin Street, Bellbrook, Ohio, 45305). You will be contacted by a Dayton Dutch Lions FC employee soon after receiving the application and a possible introduction meeting will be proposed.
