Women’s team looking to rebound from tough 6-0 loss

Looking to rebound on Saturday

The FGCDL FC women's team (0-0-2) lost their second game of the 2021 season with 6-0 vs neighbor CCSA (1-0-0) on a rainy Wednesday evening at Mariner High School. At halftime the score was 2-0.

After a "disturbed" warm-up due to severe weather, CCSA came out more prepared and was more aggressive. This resulted in two goals. The Lions picked up the pace and started to play a little better but  could not score in the first half. Instead of coming back into the game CCSA extended the lead to 3 scoring their third goal already in the 48th minute. Despite several changes to the line up the Lions simply could not find their rhythm and only had two attempts on goal by Kelly Giddes and Rachel Osborne. Two mistakes caused another two goals and eventually to a 6-0 score.

The team is back in action this Saturday when they play at home vs Sunrise Prime at 7pm at Bishop Verot.
