WPSL player Emelie Liljered on trial with ADO Den Haag

Cape Coral, March 18 2020

Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC player Emelie Liljered of the 2019 Women’s team was one of the four players that was scouted to come to Europe for a trial with Dutch Premier League club ADO Den Haag Women (National Champions 2011-2012, Dutch Cup Winners 2012, 2013 and 2016). She spent four days in The Netherlands training with the Women’s team in the Cars Jeans Stadium (https://adodenhaag.nl/nl/club/cars-jeans-stadion). Emelie commented on the trial: “It was a great experience! I enjoyed it a lot, especially for being able to be around such a professional organization and environment. I am beyond thankful to the coaching staff of ADO, the players who were great to me and made me feel part of the team from the beginning, the whole staff and Kees Punt and his wife Karin for taking such good care of me and making it a perfect trip. And Mike Mossel and Erik Tammer of Dutch Lions FC organizing the trip and showing me around.” ADO Den Haag is partner of Dutch Lions FC in their (FGCDL FC) Women’s team in Cape Coral, that competes in the 2nd division of US Soccer. The other players that were invited but could not make the trip yet due to school obligations are Zoey Spitzer, Hope van Wagner (who also both made the 2019 WPSL Sunshine All Conference Team) and Syniah Clark. They will hopefully still make the trip as well soon.

The FGCDL FC Women’s team starts their 2020 WPSL season in two months, of course this will also depend on the situation with the corona virus that the club monitors closely.
