Cape Coral, May 31- Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC is happy announce that Taylor Griffin will play for our Women's Team. Taylor played D1 and is a central defender. We had an interview with her.
FGCDL FC : What is your name, age, and city of birth?
My name is Taylor Griffin. I am 20 years old, I was born in Naples, Florida.
FGCDL FC : Where do you study right now and where did you graduate High School?
I attended and played soccer at USF my freshmen year, half way through my freshmen year I switched to Eckerd college. Now I currently attended Florida SouthWestern State College and I hope to switch to FGCU and continue playing soccer. I graduated from Lorenzo Walker Technical Highschool.
FGCDL FC : What are your honors in High School and college ball?
During my soccer years in high school I was a varsity player all 4 years. I was captain for 3 years. I made all conference all 4 years. I was MVP my senior year. I scored the most goals my freshmen, junior, and sophomore year. As a competitive player I played for Florida fire juniors being ranked second in the state.
FGCDL FC : Why did you choose to play for our Women's Team?
I choose to play for the FGCDL FC Women's Team, because I would like to compete at a higher level of play this summer, especially right in the area. I am also happy to have the opportunity to play with my teammates from club soccer and girls I have played with in college.
FGCDL FC : What are you expectations for our Women's team this summer?
My expectations for this coming season is to grow as a player and work hard to help my team win games in the league.
Head Coach Vincent de Weger is confident about Taylor her skills: " Taylor is a player with a lot of experience for her age and a real defender. Together with the other defenders we have, I look forward to see them lock down our defense. I am glad we have Taylor on our team."
