Cape Coral, May 31- Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC is excited to annouce Emma Ober as their newest signing for their Women's Team. Emma is one of our two goalkeeper and we had an interview with her.
FGCDL FC: Who are you, where are you from and how old are you?
My name is Emma Ober, I am 18 years old and I am from Hagerstown, Maryland.
FGCDL FC: What is your college?
I will be attending and playing Division I soccer at the University of Hartford this fall.
FGCDL FC: What kind of honors did you receive in your player career?
I was a 4 year varsity starter for my high school team as well as winning two conference championships back to back. I received the honors of 1st Team All-Conference, Herald Mail 2nd Team All County, All- ISPL Team, 1st Team IPSL for two years in a row as well as being a repeated up and coming player to watch. I was captain of my club soccer team for two years and was a part of the Maryland Olympic Development Program. The following year I played on the Pro23 team in Frederick, MD. In addition, I was named an Esmark All American Athlete for 2018.
FGCDL FC: What makes the FGCDL FC so different compare to other clubs?
The ambitious standards of FGCDL FC creates an environment of expected high performance and a winning mentality.
FGCDL FC: What are your expectations for coming season?
This season I want us to have a winning record! I expect to gain new insight of the game, play with talented players, and be coached by talented staff that create an elevated standard of excellence.
Head Coach Vincent de Weger is thrilled with Emma: " Emma is one of the best goalkeepers in her age group and she tried out last year with us. That year she couldn't make it due an injury, but I am happy she is here this year. I am looking forward to work with her and our other goalkeeper Casey."
