Cape Coral, May 3- Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC is happy to announce Vesna Veltrop as player for our Women's Team. Vesna played this season as midfielder in the Dutch Women Premier League. We had an interview with her.
FGCDL FC: Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Vesna Veltrop, I am 24 years old and I am from Groningen but the last five years I lived in The Hague (The Netherlands).
FGCDL FC: What are your former clubs?
In my youth career I played for vv Zuidhorn, CVVB and for the KNVB Talent Team in Amsterdam. My professional career started at age 17 when I started at AFC Ajax and the last five years I played for ADO Den Haag. Both teams participate in the Dutch Women Premier League of The Netherlands.
FGCDL FC: What kind of honors did you receive in your career so far?
I'd played for all of the youth National Teams what's a big honor for me. I've also played at a European Championship with the National Team under 17 what was a big experience for me. And I won once the Dutch Cup in The Netherlands with ADO Den Haag.
FGCDL FC: What has been you best moment in soccer?
My best moments in soccer are the matches where I represented my country in a lot of countries.
FGCDL FC: Why do you want to play in Florida for us?
I have heard a lot of positive stories from a friend of my Michelle Vrieling who played here last season. She had a great time. She did great and I hope to be important for the team as well. I will be part of the team to reach our goals for the season and for myself I hope to be a more complete soccer player with more experiences then before.
FGCDL FC: What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
I'm looking forward to the upcoming season, we want to play good soccer with good talented players who only wants to play for the win and I hope we will get better as a team. I'm excited and proud to be a part of the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC.
Head Coach Vincent de Weger is thrilled that Vesna is joining the team: "Vesna plays for our partner club ADO Den Haag and that means she has several great qualities. Besides that Monique Elliot went for a trial to the Netherlands. We hope that Vesna can top or over top the performances of Michelle and we look forward to have her in the team and work with her."
