Cape Coral, May 5th- Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC is happy to announce that Haley DeSanto will be part of our Women's Team. She is a Player to Watch according to Lee County NewsPress. We had an interview with Haley and Head Coach Vincent de Weger.

FGCDL FC: Who are you, where are you from and how old are you?

My name is Haley Marie DeSanto and I was born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida.  I am 17 years old.

FGCDL FC: What was your high school?

I am currently a Junior at Estero High School in Estero, Florida.

FGCDL FC: What are your former clubs?

Estero  High  School Wildcats – High School Team.  We made it to the regional semi-finals this year for the 1st time in the school’s history for the girls’ soccer team.

FGCDL FC: What kind of honors did you receive in your player career?

SFUYSA League – Allstar Player 2014 (nominated by other coaches within league for club team)

FGCDL FC: What is your best moment in soccer?

When we came back to beat Fort Myers High School in the Regional Semi-Finals after losing to them in District Finals.

FGCDL FC: What are your expectations for the upcoming season?

My expectations are to play and train with some of the best players in this area, along with great trainers and coaches.  To also play against amazing competition and because of this experience become a better player for it.

Head Coach is happy to have Haley is his team: "She is a defender with defensive skills, but also with speed. In our team we play with high pressure. Because of that, we need a defensive line with game vision, speed, and skills to deliver the ball to our teammates. Haley has that all."
