Cape Coral, January 11th 2017- We, as Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC, are proud to announce that Chris Vianest will join our coaching staff. Chris will coach together with Coach Davy the U10B/U11B and U13B. FGCDL FC had an interview with Chris about his past and his future with us.
FGCDL FC: Who is Chris Vianest?
Chris: I am 41 years old. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I have lived in Cape Coral for almost 20 years. I have 2 children (Cole & Sophia) that play for FGCDL FC.
FGCDL FC: How did you expercienced the FGCDL FC the last year and what made you decide to join our club?
Chris: Watching the level of training that my children received this season was well beyond what they have experienced in other leagues. I also had a chance to work with the Coaches of FGCDL FC with my Ida Baker High School Girls Soccer Team. I really believe in the Dutch Philosophy to train and teach young players. This club has a more player-centric attitude as opposed to a Coach-centric one.
FGCDL FC: What soccer experience and expertise do you bring to the club?
Chris: I have been playing since Fall 1980. Played for Coach Neil Stamm (US Olympic Captain 1972) in High School. While in the Army I played competitive Soccer in both South Korea and Central Texas. I have been Coaching High School Soccer in Florida for 7 years. Current Head Coach of the Ida Baker Girls Soccer Program. 2013 LCAC Coach of the Year. USSF F license (will have E license on Feb 5). FHSAA Certified Coach, NFHA Certified Coach.
FGCDL FC: What are your expectations for the coming year?
Chris: I expect to learn a lot from the current coaches and their system. I also hope to share my knowledge and experience with the American model of Soccer.
FGCDL FC: When do we see you in action for the first time?
Chris: I started last Monday at the first day of practices for the Spring Season.
FGCDL FC wish Chris Vianest on behalf of Vincent de Weger the best of luck.
