Cape Coral, December 5, 2016 - The Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC teams U9E, U11B and U13B participated in the Gulf Coast Cup at Gateway this weekend.
The U9E played with U9 Development Matthew D'Aquino and U8 players Marley Gutierrez and Derik Painter in the team. They played three really good games with a lot of good movement, combinations and a really high work rate. Mason Sargis scored two goals out of two penalty kicks. With a 2nd place in the bracket, the team did an outstanding job.
The U11B played an amazing first game. They played as a team and showed some great combinations. The goals that were scored were a result of building up from the back and some good combinations. In the second and third game the team lost the focus a little and as a result they lost twice. With a 3rd place in the bracket, the team did a good job.
The U13B played in a U14 bracket. Before the tournament, the team knew that it would be very tough against physically stronger teams. Even though they played up they tried playing their own style pressing forward. The team ended 4th in the bracket.
Next week the U16G team will participate in a college showcase in Naples and the other teams will play multiple home games Saturday, at Jim Jeffers Park.
