John Teeter joins Coaching Staff FGCDLFC

Cape Coral August 14th- The Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC is very pleased to announce that John Teeter has joined the FGCDL FC Youth Academy staff. FGCDLFC spoke with John about going the club.

FGCDL FC: Who are you, where are you from and what is your soccer background?

John: My name is John Teeter and I am from Cape Coral, Florida. I have played soccer for 18 years. I played youth club soccer locally for the Cape Coral Cyclones, Lee County Strikers, Florida Premier, and Island Coast Soccer Alliance. I played 4 years for Mariner High School and 4 years at the collegiate level for Warner University. I have also played 3 seasons for the Cape Coral Hurricanes (NPSL) and last season for the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC Men's team.

FGCDL FC: How did you get to play for the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC?

John: I saw the advertisements through Facebook and heard about the tryouts from my friends who participated in the first tryout. All the promotions on social media is what really caught my attention. I wanted to continue playing soccer at a high level so that is why I decided to tryout for the team.

FGCDL FC: What is your role in the Youth Academy next season and what are your ambitions?

John: My role will be to assist with the U9 Boys and U10/U11 Boys. Besides learning from the current coaches and program assistants and being able to train and coach "the Dutch way", I like to share my knowledge and experience of the game with the players in the youth academy. I want to be able to teach the kids as much about the game as I can and help them improve and develop themselves as players. Being able to see the growth of the players from the beginning of the season to the end is what I am looking forward to.

FGCDL FC: What are your expectations for next season?

John: I want to get the most out of the players and to help them out to the best of my abilities with their growth on and off the field. I expect to have a group of hardworking players who are ready to learn and enjoy the game as much as I do. This season will help me develop my skills as a coach and I look forward to being a part of the staff and working with the other coaches, program assistants, parents and players of the Orange Family.
