Cape Coral, July 24 2016 – We are proud to announce that the club has doubled the number of players compared to the 2015/2016 season, growing from 6 teams to 11 teams with still two months to go before the Fall season in US Club Soccer starts.
The new season kicks off with teammeetings the 2nd week of August, with all players and coach(es) introducing themselves, handing out the new gear and also discussing training days, times and communication. The first practice sessions start August 15 at Jim Jeffers Park. The first Orange Family Event is scheduled for August 20, when the whole Academy travels to Al Lang Stadium in St Petersburg to watch Tampa Bay Rowdies play FC Edmonton in the NASL, one level below MLS.
In case you still want to join the FGCDL FC Youth Academy, we can still add a few players in almost every age group (from U7 to U16 Boys and Girls) so if you are interested please come to our try-outs every Saturday morning that are held in combination with the FGCDL FC Training School from 9.30-10.30am!
As you possibly read before, the FGCDL FC Academy staff has expanded. Besides the coaches from the 2015-2016 season (all UEFA B licensed), Daan Uithof (UEFA B license) arrived six weeks ago and is our new Academy Director. Vincent de Weger (UEFA C license) arrived last week and has conducted several training sessions already at the FGCDL FC Training School and the Camp. During the training sessions, you can meet them. Ron van Nieuwkerk (UEFA A license) is also joining the club the next month. Info about Ron will published on the site later on.
