Cape Coral, Florida, May 24 2016 - The Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC is proud to announce that the U9 3v3 team qualified for the 3v3 US National Championships in Disney!
On a warm Saturday (May 21), the U9 Lions 3v3 team played their first qualifying tournament in Cape Coral. Coach Ronald looks back on the tournament: "it was a strong tournament with a couple of tough games for our players. We started with a loss, but in the games after that we came back strong and grew in the tournament. We ended in third place and when I look back on the games i believe that position is about accurate looking at how we performed."
Because they ended third in the tournament, the team automatically qualified for the National Championships in Disney. Coach Ronald is proud on the team: "it will be a great experience for this young team to play on the highest level. We still have more then a month to prepare ourselves and to grow as a team."
We want to congratulate the following players: Mackenzy Cortes, Thomas Castano, Drew Johnson, Mason Holt and Juan Miranda for an outstanding performance.
