The U9 boys of the Dutch Lions became champions in their age group for the first season of the US club soccer league. After an undefeated season, they received their trophy last Thursday.
With only one tie and 6 wins, the Dutch Lions u9 can look back on an outstanding season. Coach Klaas said: ‘’I’m really happy with this championship, especially because I saw the kids developing from the beginning till now and that’s what made us real champions. All the kids have their own qualities and they all bring something special to make this team the strongest.’’
After the kids received their trophy, they celebrated the championship all together. The first Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions champions is the U9, hopefully it marks the beginning to a great soccer tradition with many teams to follow.
