FGCDL FC U9B first to start with video analysis

The U9 boys of the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC Youth Academy was the first team to have their video analysis this season.

The video analysis is a key component of the tactical development of the players individually and as a team. At the age of eight/nine children start to have a sense of the "environment" on the pitch and therefore the ideal time to start developing them with positioning drills and games. It is the same as teaching children skills starting at the age of five.

Academy Manager Klaas Boersma is happy to work with video-analysis: "A coach can tell a player 10 times the same thing, but it might still not be understood or received by the player. To assist with this, the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC Youth Academy uses video analysis. This is a great visual aid, allowing the coach to show exactly what they have been trying to implement in the training sessions. The players will be able to see themselves play, see what they do well, and what they can improve on."

The Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC coaches are all trained to organize video analysis sessions with the team, a group of players (only the attacker by example), or with players individually. There will follow some more sessions in the upcoming weeks for the other teams.
